Since 1987 Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Linn County has been training everyday people to stand up and be a voice for abused and neglected children in an overwhelmed and extremely under-resourced foster care system.
Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASAs) are central in fulfilling a basic societal obligation to make sure that a qualified, compassionate adult will fight for and protect a child’s right to be safe, treated with dignity and respect, and to learn and grow in the security of a loving permanent home.
Our goal is to provide crucial one-on-one volunteer advocacy to every abused and neglected child in the Linn County foster care system: to give them a voice, to show them they are worthy, to give them hope and an opportunity to reach their full potential. We will achieve this by providing professional training, support and supervision to volunteer advocates who will work to establish what is in the best interests of each child.
